Citroën reveals Festival of Speed line-up
Citroën has released details of its line-up for the 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which includes three UK premieres - the hotly-anticipated 200hp DS3 Racing, the stunning Survolt all-electric supercar concept and the ultra-chic Revolte concept.
Making its first appearance in the UK, the eagerly awaited DS3 Racing will be a main attraction on Citroën’s show stand. Developed by Citroën Racing - the WRC team with five Manufacturer’s Championship titles - DS3 Racing is a limited edition model with a 100% sporting pedigree. Powered by a tuned and turbo-charged 200hp 1.6-litre THP engine, DS3 Racing features integrated carbon-trimmed components and specialist motorsports equipment. To be launched in the UK before the end of this year, the exclusive DS3 Racing will be limited to just 1000 production units.
Also making its UK debut is the highly-charged, all-electric Survolt supercar concept. A blend of high-fashion extravagance and motor racing dynamism, Survolt takes the essence of Citroën’s Revolte concept - performance, cutting-edge technology and luxury - and adds an assertive sporting dimension. Survolt presents a bold and radical vision for the future of ecologically sensitive, high-performance vehicles.
On display at the Goodwood FoS-TECH pavilion - a showcase for bold and exciting new automotive technologies - is the sensational Revolte concept. Alongside Survolt, Revolte will highlight Citroën’s continuing commitment to environmentally conscious motoring - together with some signature design flair. Revolte will also be taking part in the special low-emissions hill climb adding some distinctive Citroën panache to the parade of models from a number of other manufacturers.
After its exceptionally popular UK debut at the show in 2009, the GTbyCITROËN concept (pictured above) will return to the Festival of Speed’s prestigious Supercar Paddock. Visitors will be amongst a few in the world to see the model in action as it roars into life up the famous Goodwood hill climb.
The C4 WRC car will also be making a special appearance on Citroën's show stand. Currently seen propelling six-time World Rally Champion, Sébastien Loeb, to a possible record-breaking seventh FIA WRC Driver's crown, the C4 WRC car is a living piece of motorsport history. At its official debut in the 2007 Monte-Carlo Rally, the two C4 WRCs finished 1-2. Since its introduction, the C4 WRC car has helped Citroën secure the 2008 and 2009 WRC Manufacturers' titles - with high expectations of a third consecutive victory in the 2010 season.
Several examples from the recently launched DS3 range will also be on display on Citroën’s main stand, demonstrating the extensive variety of personalisation options available. Already a sales success, DS3 is currently winning the hearts and minds of discerning and demanding motorists across the UK.
